A personal note from Reinis Zariņš:
I am a concert pianist and this is my only music video channel. I perform quite a lot and many of these performances are filmed -- either professionally or by using my own personal camera. Unfortunately, most of my filmed performances are gathering dust in my memory cards. This has several reasons. Most importantly, recordings require time to pass before I can watch them neutrally and find them acceptable and thus shareable. Also, the dust is gathered because it takes time to choose the best pieces from a recital, to cut them out of the full video, edit them, maybe add some titles, find the most appropriate cover photo, maybe create it, upload, write a proper description, etc. So here I am, with a ton of (probably highly valuable) material in my drawer, but not so much up here. But... now that I have said it, I think I will find a way to share more. In any case, my main hope is that your time browsing my channel is time well spent. -- Reinis

The first performance live in Mazā Mežotnes palace 12 November 2023 Andris Dzenītis composed this musical moment the night before I premiered it. I've watched probaly two dozen performaces of this piece, but I don't know that I've ever seen the performer turn the pages on their own. That alone bumps this into 2nd place (Conrad Tao will never be outdone!).

I remember school times. You used to play this in our class old, rugged pianino after some exhausting classes. Now my son learned from your interpretation how to recognize this music for school. :) Nevertheless, smoothly played, without the excess bravado, what is often heard.

I love this idea of this concert, but I am sorry to say that I can't watch it live. But I'll watch it a bit later in the day. The purpose is important; the candles are powerful; the pianist is a thoughtful as he is talented.
